Umber Creative launches new FEO website

As active For Entrepreneurs Only (FEO) members, we were delighted to be asked to work on the latest iteration of the FEO website. It went live in January 2023 with a much-needed design refresh and the implementation of some bespoke content management sections to make uploads easier for the FEO team.

FEO is an independent group of over 200 local entrepreneurs with a combined turnover of £4bn and 25,000 employees.

Its aim is to help boost the local economy by sharing its members’ expertise with other local entrepreneurs, to help grow their businesses and create further employment. Members do this by running a variety of workshops, programmes and events, as well as sharing free toolkits and information on the FEO website.

We’ve been members since 2016, and have taken part in several FEO programmes including Step Change.

Luke Foster, our Web Director, says:

“FEO originally approached us to build a new website back in 2020, just before the Pandemic hit. After shelving their business plans for several years, like so many other organisations did, we were thrilled to finally get stuck into the project towards the latter end of last year.

“The FEO team came to us with two objectives. The first was to modernise the design and reflect the breadth of support FEO can offer. The second was to make the back end easier and more simple to use. Their old CMS was dated and it wasn’t easy for them to add or edit content.

“We fixed that problem by implementing some automation to simplify the upload process and allow content to be easily linked. The design was very much centred around good photography and subtle animation to bring the pages to life. As members, we understand the organisation and its goals, which helped us to determine the correct language to use, how to group content and make the website easy to navigate for its wide range of users.

Kevin Wilkie, our Creative Director says:

“The feedback we’ve received on the new website has been great. We’re really proud to be doing our bit to help provide local businesses with the tools they need to survive and thrive during these difficult economic times. We’re big supporters of FEO and look forward to continuing our membership moving forward.”

Umber Creative were extremely helpful throughout the whole website building process, no ask was too much and they had an abundance of ideas on how to maximise the features we needed. We’ve had nothing but positive feedback from our board and members using the new website. Can’t recommend them enough.
