We were delighted to be asked to sponsor the Time2Volunteer awards this year, following the recent launch of the initiative’s brand new website and branding.
The awards take place every year to celebrate local volunteers and the amazing work they do across Hull, East Yorkshire, North Lincolnshire and North East Lincolnshire. The award ceremony took place at the Bonus Arena in Hull on the 6th October 2022, and was hosted by HEY Smile Foundation in partnership with Nisa Retail’s charity ‘Making a Difference Locally’ (MADL), East Riding Council and Hull CVS.
We sponsored the ‘Behind the Scenes’ Award, and selected Graham Drury as the winner from 4 very deserving nominees. Graham was also crowned overall ‘Outstanding Volunteer of the Year’ for the amazing work he does for national charity, Hearing Dogs for Deaf People.
Graham is 77 years old and volunteers as a driver whilst also helping out with various maintenance jobs for the charity. His work sees him travel to fundraisers all over the country driving a ‘pupmobile’, as well as building furniture, fixing things and picking up the odd poo bag! He has even been known to dress up for events in the ‘Bruce the Hearing Dog’ mascot suit. He goes the extra mile (literally!) every day for Hearing Dogs for Deaf People and his skills have helped to save the charity thousands of pounds.
We were extremely proud to present Graham with his ‘Behind the Scenes’ award on the night, and would like to take this opportunity to say a huge well done to all 120 volunteers nominated for an award this year, the work you do in the community is priceless!
