Challenge

The Holiday Home Centre (THHC) required a means to bridge the gap between its Holiday Home sales showroom and the parks which they would be sited upon. Choosing a park is a huge part of the process and THHC turned to technology and the team at Umber Creative to bring the challenge to life.

Approach

Having worked in the holiday home sector for many years we are well placed to understand the challenge of this section of the industry and proposed a kiosk based system to be produced for their newly fitted out showroom. The ‘Park Finder’ system consisted of a 43 inch touch screen kiosk and a 60 inch secondary display powered a simple, cost effective Raspberry Pi server based onsite. The system allows users to browse through locally cached map tiles and view information in THHC’s database of parks. Users can then send fact sheets about the parks to the onsite printer or send enquiries direct to the parks to request more information. The kiosk show detail of park images, amenities and attractions in the area. The park finder system was also packaged into an offline web application for use on staff’s tablets at consumer and trade shows.

Outcome

The kiosk provides an invaluable tool for customers deciding on potential parks, keeping buyers in the showroom and increasing the chance of the sales team converting a sale whilst providing an eye catching centrepiece to The Holiday Home Centre showroom.
